SchoolWeek (“we”, “us”, “our”) helps parents organize school communications. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how you can control it.
Account information: Your email address, used to log in and to identify your forwarding address.
Children's information: Names and grade levels you provide during setup, so we can organize items by child.
School communications: Emails, messages, and attachments you forward to SchoolWeek. These may contain your children's names, teachers' names, school events, and other school-related information.
Extracted items: Events, to-dos, and information our AI pulls from your communications.
Usage data: Basic analytics (pages visited, features used) to help us improve the product. We use PostHog for this. No data is sold to advertisers.
AI processing: We use Google's Gemini AI to read your forwarded school communications and extract events, to-dos, and information. Your email content is sent to Google's Gemini API for processing. Google's Gemini API does not use your data to train AI models by default, and we have not opted into any data sharing programs.
Organizing your week: Extracted items are stored in your account so you can view them by child, by week, and by type.
Sending you emails: We use Resend to send login codes and account-related emails. We won't send marketing emails without your permission.
Improving SchoolWeek: We use anonymous, aggregated analytics to understand which features are useful and where people get stuck.
We use these services to run SchoolWeek:
| Service | Purpose | What they receive |
|---|---|---|
| Convex | Database and backend | Your account data and extracted items |
| Google Gemini | AI extraction | Your forwarded email content (processed, not stored for training) |
| Resend | Email delivery | Your email address and login codes |
| Vercel | Website hosting | Standard web request data |
| PostHog | Analytics | Anonymous usage data (pages visited, features used) |
You can:
SchoolWeek is designed for parents, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. The children's names and grade levels stored in SchoolWeek are provided by parents and used solely to organize school communications by child.
Your data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored in Convex's secure cloud infrastructure. Access to your data requires authentication with your email address.
SchoolWeek uses AI to extract information from school communications. AI can make mistakes — dates, details, or items may occasionally be incorrect. Always verify important deadlines and details against the original communication (available in the “Details” section of each item).
We may update this policy as SchoolWeek evolves. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you via the email address on your account.
